You may have heard that when folks don't have much to say, they talk about the weather just to pass the time (or fill a blog posting). Well.. right now it's -1.5F outside. Just a couple of days ago it was 40 and we were out doing some christmas shopping and gassed up the car.
Okay, I got the weather out of the way.. (Did I mention, it's freaking cold out there?!?!)
I've been listening to Australian radio lately and it's weird because it's now late spring - early summer out there and they're all talking about hitting the beaches while I'm dreading the scoopable snow that's sure to be coming just around the corner.
Growing up on the US East Coast (and now living in the midwest ---ugh---), It's hard to imagine thoughts of Christmas when Summer is rolling upon us. Seems odd.
Having the holidays in the winter gives you something nice/fun/not-so-dreary to think about when the sky is grey and the end of your driveway just got filled up by a $#&^#$&* snow plow right after you got it cleared out... but I digress...
Now I'm wondering what holidays they may have in Aussie lands that we don't in the us that may help them get through the dark crummy nights of winter... Guess the next question would be just how crummy are winters there... Guess I'm-a-gonna be googling later this morning :)
If anyone reads this other than me, thanks I guess, and have a great day/afternoon/evening etc.
Tony!
